Only 80 more days until our class is reunited in Beijing. That technically makes it 78 days until I leave. I decided after the short amount of "personal/free" time we had in Geneva, that going a day earlier would be a great idea (and slightly cheaper). But the bad part is that it only leaves 93 days until the Rocky Point Tri. I am SO not ready. I think I'll be fine on the bike; the swim and I might be getting along better; but in no uncertain terms does my body enjoy the running prospect.
I got my MRI results back on Monday (1/28). Apparently I have managed to nicely ripped my labrum from my glenoid. I'll post the pictures later. I talked my doctor into letting me "be nice" to it until May before I have surgery. At least I'll be guarenteed some rest & relxatation after the tri...mostly because I won't be able to do anything with my left arm!

Hey Krista-
Sorry to hear about your bikes being stolen. Is your insurance going to cover it?
And when you comment anon. it lends itself to all kinds of things...such as I lumped both together-
No need to apologize.
I wasn't dissing the race director or anything-and yes we made big boo-boos going into this event. I guess because we had done it last year and didn't have any problems and there wasn't any glaring "NOTICE" in any of the e-mails I received or on the website, we didn't know it was going to be that much tougher. Our fault definitely.
Yes, we SHOULD have done the shorter ride.
And yes we SHOULD have looked at the maps.
All lessons learned.
And in the end, it was just another day on a bike.
Starting a new sport like mtn. biking in one's 50s is tough-and something I enjoy but I will never be good at it. Which sucks because I DO like being out on the trails. Coming from a trail running background it seemed a good "fit"-and I will still be out there, but not fast. And I will NEVER be an all-out downhill kinda gal. I envy those who can to balls to the wall on a mountain bike, or skis and such. Some are born with it and some aren't.
I wasn't.
Glad you had a good ride.
Hope you get a new mtn. bike soon, and the only thing I can contribute is that I hope they are caught and I hope they had to clean them up a bunch before they could even try to use or sell them.
(Did you have frame ID #s?)
Best of luck.
What race are you doing this weekend
Tinfoilman?
If so see you there.
